Our Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation program was developed in order to help patients that are faced with painful and/or bothersome symptoms which interfere with their daily lives. We understand that these issues are complex and may include urinary, colorectal and musculoskeletal components.
Whether you are having issues with leakage of urine or experiencing pelvic pain; we have tools to help you navigate your next step. There are an alarming number of people that are affected by pelvic pain/dysfunction and incontinence, yet many are not aware that help is out there. What to expect at your physical therapy for pelvic floor and incontinence appointment:
Physical therapy care will begin with a thorough evaluation including your medical history and assessment of strength, range of motion, coordination, joint mobility, tissue integrity and posture.
Further information may be gathered with the use of biofeedback of the pelvic floor muscles and rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI). Your treatment will be individualized to your particular needs and may include manual therapy, education regarding your condition, biofeedback-enhanced pelvic floor muscle training, instruction in a home program, RUSI, core strengthening and use of modalities as needed.
