Cervical spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal in the neck where the spinal nerves exit the spinal cord. The spinal cord is within the spinal column and is a collection of nerves that run from the brain. These nerves supply the body and flow through the spinal canals. When the canals narrow they can squeeze and compress the nerve roots where they come off of the spinal cord, this can cause irritation to the nerve roots and or the spinal cord from the location they exit.
