The neck is an area with a great deal of mobility which can leave it susceptible to injury. When the tissues, muscles and tendons, are injured they are termed strains. When the nonmoving structures such as the ligaments, joint capsules, nerves, blood vessels and cartilage are injured they are termed sprains.
