This condition affects the cartilage that surrounds the socket of the ball and socket joints. The labrum forms a ring around the edge of the bony socket of the hip joint; it helps provide stability in the joint and allows the hip more motions and flexibility. Until recently, it has been difficult to diagnose these injuries but with the help of arthroscopic techniques there has been an increase in the awareness of these injuries.
Pain and tightness in the muscles surrounding the hip,
Clicking and catching sensations in the hip
Overall loss of range of motion.
