Achilles Tendinitis or Rupture
The Achilles tendon is a commonly injured tendon. Achilles tendonitis is caused by an increase in activity or by repetitive activities that overload the tendon. Achilles tendonitis can lead to an Achilles Rupture if it weakens the tendon over time. With a traumatic injury the tendon can rupture and may possibly need surgery to re-attach the tendon.
- Heel pain
- Aching/burning Achilles tendon
- Calf pain
- Increased pain after resting
- Decreased pain during activity which often returns after activity.
