LOW BACK STRAIN/SPRAIN
Low back injuries are one of the most common reasons individuals visit their physicians. The low back frequently gets injured because of its flexibility and because it is loaded with the weight of our upper bodies. When the tissues, muscles and tendons are injured they are termed strains. When the non-moving structures such as the ligaments, joint capsules, nerves, blood vessels and cartilage are injured they are termed sprains. Once the condition is known our physical therapists can help decrease your pain and dysfunction and help you down the road to recovery.
- Mild to severe localized low back pain
- Stiffness and tenderness
- Muscle spasms
- Difficulty with prolonged sitting and walking
They may use therapeutic modalities, manual therapy techniques, massage, strengthening/stretching exercises. Our therapists will also teach you proper sleeping and ergonomic mechanics to help you regain a full recovery.
