Frozen shoulder is a condition that can come on slowly and develop when you stop using your shoulder because of pain or from another chronic health condition such as a stroke. When a shoulder injury is left untreated and the mobility of the shoulder isn’t regained a frozen shoulder can occur.
Symptoms
Pain with movement
Limited shoulder movement
Pain when trying to sleep on the affected shoulder
Difficulty with activities involving overhead movement, such as getting dressed or brushing your hair
Treatment
Our physical therapists can help you regain your motion and decrease your pain by using therapeutic modalities, manual/mobilization techniques, strengthening and stretching exercises and they will give you a home exercise program to ensure that you maintain your shoulder function and motion.
