Our clinic has served the Coachella Valley since November 2003 and is managed by Julia Zuniga, who is a Physical Therapist specializing in Outpatient Orthopedics. The clinic is fully equipped to treat any musculoskeletal conditions, such as joint/soft tissue injuries, balance deficits, and arthritic conditions just to name a few. We also provide post-surgical rehabilitation for all orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements and other operations.

– Pelvic Floor / Urinary Incontinence Program –
We also offer a Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation program for the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions, including bowel and bladder dysfunctions and pelvic pain. Julia Zuniga is our Pelvic floor Rehab Specialist/Physical Therapist. We offer a specialized treatment program that yields wonderful results for our patients helping them regain control of their bladder and bower function and decrease pain. Appointments are discreet and provided one-on-one with our Physical Therapist.

Physical Therapist & Clinic Director Julia graduated with a Masters Degree from Loma Linda University. Prior to joining Palm Desert Physical Therapy, she was employed at Eisenhower Medical Center working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of Pelvic Floor Disorders and has received additional training through numerous continuing education courses to specialize in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. Julia also speaks fluent Spanish.
Jessica Chavez, PTA
Jessica Chavez is a Physical Therapist Assistant that comes to us with a strong passion of outpatient physical therapy. Originally from Grand Haven, Michigan she came to California to work with the best in the PT field. She has 10 years of experience as a PTA working in all areas of the field of Physical Therapy, including hospital inpatient, pediatrics, aquatics, manual therapy, and outpatient clinics. “What keeps me smiling everyday is the drive and passion I have to problem solve and assist patients to decrease their pain and help them return to a better functioning human”. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and shopping.
Alan Gwin, PTA
Alan has been working in the physical therapy field since September 1990, beginning in the Physical Therapy Department at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. He received his Physical Therapy Assistant License in December 1997 and continued to work at Desert Regional Medical Center until 2009, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Alan has experience working in trauma, orthopedics, acute rehabilitation, wound care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient physical therapy.
Personal TrainerGino is a Palm Springs native. He is certified as a Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Professional, Expert-Rated personal trainer, and CPR certified. He is trained in Skeletal Therapy Massage techniques, and by the American Red Cross to be a CPR/AED instructor. He volunteers for our local Search & Rescue team. When not working, he loves to surf, train in mixed-martial arts, and compete in Jui Jitsu tournaments. Gino is also a self proclaimed “Husband & Father of the Year”, 5 years running!
Barbara is the Office Manager at Palm Desert Physical Therapy and has had the pleasure of working here since 2005. She has great customer service skills, working extremely well with the patients and our staff. This customer service is experienced from the setting up of the patient’s initial evaluation to any follow up calls after their physical therapy ends. The comment most heard is how knowledgeable and caring we are, “like one big happy family”. We would love to extend our family out to you, so…if you ever find yourself in need, just give us a call. Diana Honsa, PT
Diana Honsa is a physical therapist who graduated from California State University at Long Beach in 1980. She has extensive experience in orthopedics. She has specialized in geriatric orthopedics since coming to the Desert 26 years ago from Huntington Beach. Her work experience in the Desert has been 15 years at Eisenhower Medical Center and 6 years with Shelley Cooper Physical Therapy before joint RET PT Group.
