Douglas Free, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy Dr. Free was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and has spent most of his life here. He has been the director of Mercer Island Physical Therapy since 2001. He has worked diligently to provide the highest quality and most effective care possible, and in doing so has developed a strong reputation in the community and with referring doctors. He specializes in neck and back pain patients, utilizing a variety of treatment approaches to best fit the needs of the individual patient.  This includes, but is not limited to, the teachings of Robin McKenzie, also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. He enjoys family activities with his wife and two children including snow skiing, swimming, and walking the dog. He is also lacrosse coach for Sammamish Lacrosse Club.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Zoology from Central Washington University, 1993.
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California, 1999.
